FAQ

What your ticket includes

Your ticket includes:

- Entry to the event
- One desk space
- Access to power
- One Ethernet cable
- A plastic chair

You are welcome to bring your own chair if you prefer.

What you need to bring

Please bring:

- Your gaming device: desktop, laptop, Steam Deck, etc.
- One monitor
- Mouse
- Keyboard or controller
- Headphones
- Desk pad

If it helps you game and it fits in your space, bring it.

Note: We provide 1 ethernet cable to each seat. You may need a USB to bring an ethernet adapter if your computer doesn't have an ethernet port.

Desk space and power

Each player space is 900 x 800 mm.

That’s enough for a sensible setup. It is not enough for a command centre, triple-monitor racing rig, or a TV the size of a garage door.

Each seat includes 2 power outlets:

- 1 for your gaming device
- 1 for your monitor

Any spare outlet space at your table may be shared between neighbours for small items like phone charging only. Do not rely on spare outlets for additional gaming equipment.

Important setup info

This is a BYOC event, which means Bring Your Own Computer. We provide the table space, basic seating, power, and Ethernet. You bring your own setup and connect in for the day.

Please keep your setup to a sensible size so it fits within your allocated space. Oversized screens or bulky setups that exceed the desk area are not suitable.

What even is a LAN party?

It’s a big in-person gaming day where everyone brings their own setup, plugs into the same local network, and games together in the one space. Think less lonely online queue, more side-by-side chaos.

What games do you play?

The list isn’t fully locked yet, but the idea is simple: bring together the kinds of games people grew up playing at LANs, the games everyone forgot were insanely fun, and a few chaotic picks that are perfect for a full room of mates on a local network.

Expect a blend of old-school shooters, strategy games, co-op chaos, weird niche throwbacks, and those “I haven’t played this in years” moments. It’s less about chasing the newest releases and more about capturing that proper LAN feeling - loading into something familiar, hearing people yell across the room, and instantly getting dragged into one more round.

We’ll lock the final list in closer to the event, but the goal is nostalgia first, fun always, and plenty of variety so there’s something for everyone.

What if I’m not super competitive?

Perfect. This isn’t just for sweats and tryhards. Come for games, laughs, hanging out, and seeing a room full of people actually playing together.

What if I’ve never been to a LAN before?

Everyone starts somewhere. Bring your setup, plug in, ask questions from one of our support NPC's if you need help, and settle in.

What does BYOC mean?

Bring Your Own Computer… or laptop, Steam Deck, raspberry pi or whatever your chosen battle station is.

Can I bring more than one monitor?

Please do not bring more than 1 external monitor. One monitor per person keeps things fair, tidy, and actually fitting on the tables.

Do I need to bring my own Ethernet cable?

Nope. We’ve got that covered.

How much power do I get?

Each seat gets 2 power outlets:

- One for your gaming device
- One for your monitor

There may be spare outlets at your table, but those are only for small things like charging a phone. Don’t plan your setup around bonus power.

Will there be Wi-Fi?

Not for gaming. There might be Wi-Fi for basic stuff like your phone but this is a LAN. Your main connection is Ethernet at your seat, and that’s what you should plan to use.

You may need a USB to bring an ethernet adapter if your computer doesn't have ethernet.

Should I bring headphones?

Yes. VERY YES. Please do your part to stop twelve different game soundtracks becoming one cursed orchestra.

Will there be food and drinks?

Food can be pre-booked during ticket purchase. If you want to keep things easy on the day, add your food when buying your ticket. You’re also welcome to bring your own snacks and drinks unless advised otherwise.

Can I leave and come back?

Yes, just make sure you follow any check-in or re-entry process on the day.

Can I sit with my mates?

That’s the plan. Best move is to arrive together. We’ll do what we can, but space on the day is still space on the day.

Is my gear safe if I leave it unattended?

Look after your own gear. We’re here to run a LAN, not a lost-property.

Can I sleep there?

No. You can look tired, act tired, and become one with your keyboard briefly, but this is not a sleepover.

Can I smoke or vape inside?

Nope. Not inside the venue or on the school grounds.

Can I bring speakers?

No. Please don’t. Headphones are the go.

Can I bring a console instead of a PC?

NO. A PC is recommended.

Who do I talk to if I have questions before the event?
